The Resurrection of the Christ: A Harmony and Short Reader [Kindle Edition]
S. T. Cowden (Author)

The resurrection of Jesus Christ is the most important and central tenet of the Christian faith. The Christian celebration of Easter not only once a year, but once every week, on Sunday, the Lord’s Day, is a testament to the centrality of the event of the bodily resurrection of Jesus the Messiah on one fateful Sunday morning, at early dawn, some time in Spring of 30 AD. The primary source we have for information about the circumstances of the bodily resurrection of Jesus is the New Testament, specifically, the four canonical gospel accounts. However, because they are not photocopies of each other, it takes a little bit of work for a Christian reader to be able to put the four accounts of the resurrection together in a coherent way and to get the full story. This work offers a simple proposed harmony of the four canonical accounts, without commentary on all the reasoning behind the author’s choice of chronology and possible reconciliation of verses and passages which are in tension at the level of appearance on a first read-through.
